In January 2019, the Husseini Clean Water Project completed the development of three wells in the Majoreni area of Kenya. This saw the installation of 3 wells across the region to give the communities sustainable access to clean and safe water.
Kivuma village
On the 23rd of March, the first borehole was drilled in the Kivuma village. Before this, the villagers ad to travel long distances to bring water for their families and the water they brought home wasn’t clean. Now, the families living in the village have clean and safe water in a close vicinity.
Minyanzani village
As part of this project, a well was also installed in the Minyanzani village in April 2018. The water scarcity in the region means the locals have to walk long distances to find an adequate supply of water. Thanks to your donations this is no longer an issue as the villagers have sustainable access to clean water that they can use for drinking, growing crops, cleaning and cooking.
Mangawani village
The development of a Solar Well in the Mangawani village was the final part of this project. The Solar Powered Wells use the sun’s energy to generate electricity which helps to pump water from deep underground. This provides access to long-lasting water sources enabling quick and effortless access to water, whenever needed.
Alhamdullilah, thanks to your generous donations we have been able to provide families across this region get access to clean and safe water and we plan to provide continuous training of the community on the preventive maintenance of the project components.
