The floods in Pakistan have caused tremendous suffering. Pakistan has been ravaged by catastrophic floods not seen before in the nation’s history. Unprecedented rainfall and uninterrupted flooding triggered by climate change have wreaked havoc across most of Pakistan during the monsoon season, inundating more than one-third of the country. All four provinces have been affected, tens of million have lost their homes and thousands of buildings, roads and bridges destroyed. In the south, some areas of Baluchistan and Sindh saw a 400% increase in avg rainfall this monsoon season. Rainfall this monsoon season has been 190% higher than the 30-year average. Some areas have experienced 700% more rain than average.
