WF-AID is dedicated to providing long-term water solutions that will benefit communities. To establish the most sustainable solution in each community, we collaborate with local partners and members of the community.
In Gaza, Palestine, we are providing funding for refillable water tanks and a desalination water truck, so that our partners may provide clean, safe water to 18,200 people on a monthly basis. This ensures that families have access to clean water within the safety of their homes, and alleviates them from the burden of travelling to procure water in the unstable environment on the ground.
This project will provide 650,000 litres of water monthly to 3,300 families. The following ways that this will benefit the neighbourhood:
- Providing employment opportunities to our partners providing aid on the ground.
- Producing more water for human consumption and ensuring that everyone has access to clean water.
- Reducing the region’s water shortage and the prevalence of illnesses, some of which are the result of water borne diseases.
According to our reports, 50% of the population in Gaza comprises of children. Children who should have smiles painted on their faces are often exposed to dangers associated with unclean water and hygienic spaces to play in.
