On Wednesday 22nd February 2017, a group of representatives from WF AID attended the Muslim Charities Forum Humanitarian Awards which recognised some of the incredible work done by Muslim Charities both locally and internationally.
Head of WF AID and MCF Trustee, Shan E Abbas Hassam, gave a short speech on behalf of the MCF Trustees Board. He spoke about ‘celebrating the exceptional depth, the extraordinary breadth of wonderful work undertaken by British Muslim Charities both here at home and throughout the world’ and also about ‘celebrating the diversity of the organisations that make up the Muslim Charities Forum that when combined create huge potential.’

Farhad Marwani, the Vice President of the UK Ismaili Institute, was also a WF AID attendee on the night. The event was attended by over 100 guests including MPs and Lords as well as Founders, CEOs, Ambassadors and other representatives of many international organisations.
The Muslim Charities Forum (MCF) is an umbrella organisation for Muslim-led international NGOs, based in the UK. Members include Muslim Hands, Islamic Relief and Human Appeal amongst many more. The World Federation is not only a member of MCF but Shan E Abbas Hassam also sits on the board of Trustees.
MCF has three patrons; Clare Short, the longest serving ex-minister for International Development (pictured below); Sir Christopher Bubb and The Rt Honourable Andrew Mitchell MP.
