The torrential rains has hit Pakistan severely and has cost communities lives, homes, sources of income and livestock in a matter of minutes. According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) the death toll has now risen to more than 1,350 people, among which 480 are just young children.
In many affected areas there is not a single house left standing, due to the severity of the floods. Children and families are left to take shelter and rest in the rubbles of where their houses once stood. Lack of food and hygiene undoubtedly will increase the risk and spread of water-borne diseases such as Typhoid and Cholera. The risk for survival is only increasing.
WF-AID has launched a full fledged relief campaign in parts of Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab and have commenced distributing various relief packages

WF-AID is on the ground distributing hot meals to families in Dasht area of Balochistan, Mianwali & Rajanpur, Dera Ismail Khan Districts.
With a rise in mosquitoes in the current weather conditions, WF-AID distributed nets to families and children to protect them against Malaria and Dengue. Tents are also being distributed in areas of Balochistan.
Free Medical Camps in villages in Badin to assist families with medical care they require during these trying times.
WF-AID is reaching out to the communities in any way possible. But as help arrives, the cry from the people in devastation and misery is apparent. We are receiving reports that with the 33 million people affected by the floods, there are hundreds and thousands who still do not have access to either food, clean drinking water, shelter or medical assistance.
Our selfless partners and volunteers on the ground are working tirelessly day and night, through the muddy flood water, across barren lands to help as many communities as possible.
