Who is listening to the cries of millions of people during the world’s forgotten war?
You may not have heard about the brutal assault on Hudaidah in Yemen. There’s been little or no news coverage, but reports show the strategic coastal city has been locked in a terrifying battle for days.
With no signs of the assault slowing down, families are forced to leave their homes, and lives, behind as they flee to Yemen’s capital, Sana’a.
Those residents left behind, who are forced to stay or can’t escape, are now braced for a devastating street fight, as tanks and buses carrying uniformed troops roll through the empty streets of the once-bustling city.
Hudaidah is the fourth-largest city in Yemen, with a population of 600,000 people. Its port is regarded as the country’s most important distribution hub, where 70% of aid supplies like food, fuel, medicine and other basic necessities are brought in.
