In November 2020, our newly appointed representative in Pakistan, Mustafa Hemani, visited seven jamaats in Sindh, Pakistan where he saw the work being done by the dedicated volunteers to repair houses that had been damaged by flooding in the area.
In total, Mustafa visited seven jamaats, including Mirpur Bathoro, Nindo Shehr, Talhar, Tando Bhago, Kadhan, Badin City, and Pharr marri, which are all in Badin District in Sindh. All of these jamaats are functional Imambargahs, with daily congregational & Friday prayers and daily Qur’an and Deeniyat classes being held. Various other religious activities are also held occasionally.
Following the floods in the Sindh district in September, we began working with Pakistan Federation to repair the houses which had been damaged by the heavy rain and flooding. In the first phase, fourteen houses were identified with severe issues, some of which even needed to be demolished and reconstructed due to the waterlogging and old foundations. Work has begun on all of these fourteen homes, some of which are near completion already. In the next phase, once these fourteen are completed, houses that need major and minor repairs will begin.
