Saabrin has never seen her father. He was killed during the Iran – Iraq war before she was born. Sabrin, her mother, and her elder brother live with her uncle and his family in a 2 bedroom house. The uncle barely earns enough to feed them. The harsh Iraqi winters are even harsher for children like Saabrin who do not have heating or warm blankets. This year Saabrin did not have to share a blanket with her mother and cousins. Through WF AID’s Blanket Drive for orphans and needy, she was kept warm with her own blanket.
WF AID’s Blanket Drive provides warm clothes and blankets for those who cannot afford warmth and heating in severe cold weather. This year 721 orphan children in Najaf, Iraq received blankets and warm clothes to protect them against Iraq’s severe winters.
