My name is Ali and I am 12 years old. I live in a small mountain village in Churka, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. For most of my life, my family relied on whatever water we could collect from nearby streams, which often left my younger sister sick several times a year. Thanks to the WF-AID’s Ali Asghar Water Appeal, a clean water filtration plant was built in the heart of my village. I no longer have to walk long distances to fetch water, and I do not worry about it making my family unwell. My little sister has not been ill all year, and one day I hope to become an engineer so I can build the same kind of plants in other villages.
